Fishing reports are written weekly throughout the open fishing season based on Fireside Lodge guests reports of their daily fishing experiences while fishing at Fireside Lodge

week the weather settled into a fall like pattern with daytime highs
from 58 to 64 degrees and nights falling as low as 39-degrees. This was a
warning that winter weather is only 6-8 weeks away. As for the fishing

was variable this week with some major changes taking place moving from
a summer pattern into fall. That’s correct Fall at the end of August
does happen sometimes and this is one of those years. We had several
cold fronts move in and out and high winds for 5 days, causing a drop in
water temperatures by almost 10 degrees. The fishing
Weather this week was text book August temperatures being in the low
70’s or high 60’s for daytime highs, and lows of 45 to the low 50’s at
night. We had a few windy days and a cold front however fishing seemed

week we had classic August weather having high temperatures in the low
to mid 70’s and lows at night somewhere around 50 degrees. The full moon
was at its best setting over the horizon every morning for those early
risers to see. The fishing

week started out with a few warm days in the mid 80’s but a cool front
came in Monday dropping the temps to the mid 60’s but then rebounded the
next day giving us beautiful summer weather with highs in the 70’s.

week weather wise could only be described as unsettled summer weather.
We had very nice temperatures but it seemed like the conditions would
change two to three times daily. Most were in the form of rain showers
or disruptive thunderstorms. As for the fishing

was a typical summer week with the temperatures being normal or a
little above normal during the day but cooling in the late evening and
nighttime along with a few rain showers and thunderstorms. With all that
being said all enjoyed
This was an absolutely beautiful weather week having nice
summer temperatures with light to moderate winds. We had one rain day

Our
final open week of 2018 started out with exceptional weather having
temperatures in the low to mid 70’s with very lite winds, but by mid
week things changed and a Northern Cold Front pushed its way into the
area dropping the temps
This
week started out on the warm side with temps at about 80 and then the
bottom fell out with a severe cold front moving in driving the
temperatures down to highs of 50-55 for 2 days then moving to the mid
60’s the third day and into the low to mid 70’s for the end of the week.

Summer stability has finally arrived as for the past three weeks we have been into a summer pattern. This pattern still has a few rain showers and thunderstorms with it, however they have been much milder and less frequent. For those of you here earlier this year, the water has reseeded enough to have the dock decking showing, however we are still weighting the dock down because of high water levels.
It was a fabulous summer wee in Northwest Ontario. Having temperatures
in the 70�??s, nights in the high 50�??s and a mix of sun and cloud. We did
have some rain, and isolated thunderstorm, but no major rain event as
in the past weeks.

If you saw some of the fishers coming off the water you might be mistaken that they were fishing in very late fall. Opening day was May 17th an even though winter was technically over a long time ago we still had small areas of visible snow, the creek that runs through our property had ice and snow in the shaded areas, and the lake ice left completely only two days before opening day.
