Hello from Fireside Lodge in Northwest Ontario. Beginning of the week started out with some much needed rain bringing in slightly cooler temperatures. After the rain event the weather was near perfect for three days being partly sunny with temperatures in the low to mid 60’s.
Hello from Fireside Lodge in Northwest Ontario. This week started off with way above normal temperatures, actually hitting the 90-degree mark. It stayed warm for the next few days then cooled down to more normal temperatures in the low to mid 60’s. The warm temps at the start of the week helped keep the surface top water action going for the rest of the week, which is always a good thing.

Hello From Fireside Lodge in beautiful Northwest Ontario, Canada. This week was the most gorgeous week of he summer every day having day time highs in the mid-70’s with very light winds, and night time temps in the high 50’s or low 60’s. As close to perfect as possible.
Summer stability has finally arrived as for the past three weeks we have been into a summer pattern. This pattern still has a few rain showers and thunderstorms with it, however they have been much milder and less frequent. For those of you here earlier this year, the water has reseeded enough to have the dock decking showing, however we are still weighting the dock down because of high water levels.
It was a fabulous summer wee in Northwest Ontario. Having temperatures
in the 70’s, nights in the high 50’s and a mix of sun and cloud. We did
have some rain, and isolated thunderstorm, but no major rain event as
in the past weeks.
Hello from Fireside Lodge in Northwest Ontario. The week started out cold and rainy and by Tuesday the temperatures got back to normal, but it persisted to stay wet. Oh well, that’s the great outdoors, and why they sell good rainwear.

The weather was still cool and rainy at the beginning of the week however it did turn around by Tuesday and the sun appeared, and temperatures warmed near normal 70 degree temperatures. The Smallmouth Bass needed this to move them into spawning mode.

If you saw some of the fishers coming off the water you might be mistaken that they were fishing in very late fall. These temps along with a lot of cold rain and wind created some tough fishing conditions.

After a cold start on our first week the weather broke for a few days giving us some sunshine, but the snow came back for one more day. After we got through that event it did turn sunny and cool again, with temperatures 55 to 62 degrees.

Opening day was May 17th an even though winter was technically over a long time ago we still had small areas of visible snow, the creek that runs through our property had ice and snow in the shaded areas, and the lake ice left completely only two days before opening day.
